How can you use body detox to rid your system of unwanted toxins? We’ve discussed many ways that our bodies can acquire stores of toxins. By simply living in a world filled with more and more toxins, we take on a load of toxins far greater than our bodies can handle.
Just as your house needs a spring cleaning on a regular basis, so you need to detox to remain problem free. Without regular detox, you will find your system beginning to break down.
Many methods of detox involve ingesting something to get the desired results. For example, detox diets involve eating certain items to shake loose toxins and escort them out of the body. However, my definition of body detox is somewhat different. I believe it signifies any method that involves coaxing toxins from the body by other means.

Tom and I once visited a naturopath, Dr. Mayfield, who gave us several methods of eliminating toxins and helped us to become healthier. He showed us ways to remove toxins from the liver, kidneys and colon.
As I detailed some of the detox methods we used, he often nodded his head and agreed with me. He explained that yes, external methods are effective and even necessary to help us remove toxins lodged deep in our tissues.
In his office, he offered sauna, ionic foot baths and massage to name just a few. Dr. Mayfield was a firm believer in external methods of detox.
