This cabbage soup detox recipe has been used as a detox diet recipe for many years. There are many variations, but the main idea is to take some cabbage, lots of veggies and herbs and make soup with a nice broth. When trying to detox, this is and excellent diet to use. Chop the onions, celery and peppers. Place the oil in your soup pot and add the chopped veggies. Saute until the onions are transparent.
While those are cooking, chop or shred the cabbage, and chop the carrots, beans and tomatoes (if you’re using fresh tomatoes.) Throw in these veggies and add the broth.
Heat to boiling and season the soup to taste by adding any salt, pepper and herbs you like. You may also like to add about a half cup of brown rice to the soup. This can be done by adding it uncooked after the soup is boiling, or by cooking it and adding it when the rest of the soup is finished.
You can change the soup by using different veggies, or different herbs. Use your imagination. It’s your soup! It’s also ok to add a half pound of cooked chicken if you or someone in the family doesn’t do well without the protein.
