Healthy Fruit Smoothies
My Green Smoothie Recipe
This is my green smoothie recipe. I use it in the
morning as a wake-up call.
When I want to lose weight or detox, these healthy fruit smoothies
are
just the ticket. It’s one of my favorite healthy smoothie recipes.
There are some things you need to know about this recipe:
- Most people want to make their smoothies with yogurt, or
milk, but
dairy is a no-no on most detox diets, so my version of healthy
smoothies simply does away with the dairy.
- I avoid soy milk for much the same reason. Soy mimics
estrogen, so I avoid
soy as well.
- I use stevia as a sweetener, and sometimes I add honey as a
sweetener
as well. If you use local honey, it’s a good way to reduce or eliminate
allergies.
- Speaking of honey, some good things you can add to your
healthy
smoothie recipes are bee pollen and royal jelly. Both are awesome for
your health, and they add a nice flavor to healthy fruit smoothies.
- Freshly made juices are awesome, but with a busy schedule,
who has
time? I use the best juice I can afford, timewise or healthwise. If you
don’t have time to juice, just use an organic fruit or veggie juice.
- The fruits in this green smoothie are interchangeable, and
you can add
veggies as well. I take a look out in my garden and just grab a few
likely looking veggies and fruits.
- As for the green powder, I use any type of meal replacement
powder that
fits my budget and my sense of what is healthy. Look for a green meal
replacement powder that has things like wheat grass, barley grass, or
other super green items. Be certain it’s raw, and it should certainly
mention a long list of enzymes, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals,
and antioxidants.
Here is where you will get your biggest protein boost as well. The best
meal replacements contain pea protein or other sources of vegetable
protein.
Don’t skimp on your meal replacement powder; this is the most healthy
thing you might be eating all day.
