Fruit is very much essential to remove all the toxic substance from our body. Once I brought a dozen of mangoes and ate two of them without removing its skin. I have heard now a day some chemicals are used to ripen it. I think because of this I got loose motions.
Really I will never forget that day because that day affected my health very badly. I became very weak and was not able to eat properly.
Thus my mother told me one ayurvedic method to solve this problem. The solution was to drink 1/4 cup of a black tea along with the addition of lime juice thrice a day. It can be made by squeezing a lemon juice into a cup of black tea. Really it was a wonderful idea which had stopped my loose motion and helped me to gain my energy back within few days. So I say that always wash the fruit very nicely and peel off the skin from the fruit like mangoes, apple etc.

Interesting story. It's very good advice to wash your fruits and veggies before eating it. The chemicals can often be damaging to our systems. This is another reason we should try to eat organic foods as often as possible.
The skins of fruits and vegetables contain many important nutrients that are lost by peeling. So if you eat organic when possible you can make use of all those wonderful nutrients.
I know for me it's very hard to find a variety of foods that are organic, so I grow my own as much as possible and use organic methods to grow them. I visit farmer's markets and speak with the farmers about how they grow their foods.
And when I have to, I do as this reader does and wash and peel my foods when necessary.
